James Stanfield was born in Garston, Lancashire, England.
James was a Friend (Quaker)
James Stanfield was born in Garston near Liverpool on the Lancashire - Cheshire border in, England, in 1668. Like the rest of his family, he joined the Society of Friends (Quakers). He emigrated from England to William Penn's Quaker-led colony of Pennsylvania, in the 1680s.[1]
On April 27, 1690, at the Philadelphia Quaker Monthly Meeting, James Stanfield married Mary Hutchinson, b: before 1674 in Burlington, West Jersey (later New Jersey). They had 2 children:
Francis Stanfield b: ABT 1694 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - died in 1695
Mary Stanfield b: ABT 1696 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - died in 1697
James' wife, Mary Hutchinson, died in August 1698, in Philadelphia.
On September 1, 1699, James Stanfield signed his Will. He died on September 3 and the will was proven on September 27, 1699. As his wife and his children had died before him (from Yellow Fever, as was the cause of his death), his estate passed to his siblings and by bequests to friends.

Research Notes
I have found several sources through ancestry.com showing marriage and intention records. It is a bit confusing since the dates disagree. Also have found a couple of records of immigration, death and court proceedings. "Free Images" are all viewable without an account. I have also included the paywall links.
