Charles Stanford was a prominent composer who set the trend, especially in Anglican church music, for a re-awakening of British composing talent, without losing sight of the formative influence of European composition in earlier centuries.

Professor of Music Cambridge University 1887; Conductor of the Bach Choir 1885-1902.

In 1891 the Stanfords are living in Harvey Road, Cambridge.[1].

He was knighted on 24 Oct 1902.

In 1911 there appears to be a London residence at 50 Holland Street, Kensington, London.[2]
