Research Notes
Oscar appears to have removed to Florida ahead of his younger first cousins John H. Treadwell and Edgar D. Treadwell. He was in Manatee County by 1880 when he worked as a lumber clerk (probably "lawyer" clerk?) and resided with his mother Mattie and an adopted daughter Georgia. By 1888, Oscar was married and residing in the small southwest Florida town of Arcadia, where he was shown in 1900 in the occupation of a lawyer. His cousins John and Edgar, also lawyers, joined him, settled there and opened a law practice. John appeared there in 1897, and Edgar by 1905. Oscar returned to Manatee County by 1910 and settled there in the town of Bradenton, Florida.
