William married Helen (Ellen) Wood in the December quarter of 1870 in the Wortley registration district.[2]
William and Helen had 1 child, Fanny Elizabeth Stanley (1873-1923).
William died on 21 June 1890 in Ecclesfield, Yorkshire at the age of 54. Probate was granted to his sister Frances (Stanley) Barber.[3] William was interred at Ecclesfield Cemetery, Yorkshire on 24 Jun 1890.[4]
