Baxter Stanley was born on February 29, 1916 in Clarenville, Newfoundland.His parents were Edgar Stanley and Ida Gosse. Baxter was living with his parents in 1921 at Clarenville, Newfoundland.[1] He is also listed on the 1935, census at Clarenville with his parents. [2] He married June Tilley on September 06, 1940. Together they had 1 child:

  1. Leonard Stanley

Baxter and June were living at Clarenville in 1945.[3] He passed away in 2000. and is buried in the United Church Cemetery on Church Hill, Clarenville. [4]

Stanley, Baxter — Passed peacefully away at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville on October 6th, 2000, Baxter Stanley of Clarenville, Predeceased by his son Lennie (1962). Left with fond and loving memories, his wife June (Tilley) of 60 years; daughter Heather Singleton (Leonard); grandchildren John (Vanessa), Neil (Leeann), and Alexandra; great-grandchildren Jeffery, Adam, and Nathan; sister Geneva Cholock; brothers; Gerald (Edna), Eric (Vinie), all of Clarenville; sisters-in-law; Mabel Stanley, Ontario, Violet Stanley, Orlando, Florida, Norma Piercey (Bill), St. John's, Ida Tilley, Clarenville; brothers-in-law; Alex Tilley, Gordon Tilley, Al Tilley (Joan), all of Clarenville, and a large number of relatives and friends. Resting at Fewer's Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral will be 2 pm on Monday at the Memorial United Church, Clarenville, with interment at United Church Cemetery, Church Hill, Clarenville. In his memory flowers accepted or a Memorial Fund to the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital CT Scan Fund.
