Biography

Louisa Stanley was born in 1856 at Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. She was the daughter of Henry Stanley and his wife Elizabeth, born Elizabeth Hathaway. ^{[1] [2] [3] [4]}

In 1871 Louisa was living in New Street in Chipping Norton with her parents and their other children, Her age was given as 14, implying a birth date in 1856 or 1857. Her birthplace was given as Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. She was a dressmaker. ^[5]

Thomas William Rice, aged 24, a groom, of Heage, son of William Rice, glazier; and Louisa Stanley, aged 23, of Chipping Norton, daughter of Henry Stanley, builder; were married at the parish church of Heage in Derbyshire on 14 June 1880. ^[3]
