Edward John Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby was born on 21 April 1918, son of Rt. Hon. Sir Edward Montagu Cavendish Stanley, Lord Stanley and Hon. Sibyl Louise Beatrix Cadogan. He married Lady Isabel Milles-Lade, daughter of Hon. Henry Augustus Milles and Esther Benyon, on 22 July 1948. He died on 28 November 1994 at age 76, without issue.
Educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England and Magdalen, Oxford.
