(age 16 - born in Virginia), their inferred son Joseph (age 14 - born in Virginia), their inferred son George (age 11 - born in Virginia), their inferred daughter America (age 8 - born in Virginia), their inferred son John C. (age 6 - born in Virginia), their inferred daughter Mahala (age 3 - born in Virginia) and their inferred daughter Rebecca (age 3/12)[5].
In 1860, Moses (age appears to be 28 on the census, born in Virginia and worked as a farmer), the next name appears to be Nelly Stanley (age 53, born in Virginia, this is his wife Nelly Lowe Stanley as it states in the picture), George Stanley (age 19 - born in Virginia, the age is a couple of years off but this could be his son), Malinda Stanley (age appears to be 38 on the census, born in Virginia), America Stanley (age 18), Adeline Stanley (age 17 - born in Virginia), John Stanley (age 16), Mahala Stanley (age 13 - born in Kentucky), Rebecca Stanley (age 11 - born in Kentucky), Nancy Stanley (age 12 - born in Kentucky) and Richard Stanley (age 7 - born in Kentucky)[6].
In 1880, Moses (age 80), lived in Pond Creek, Pike County, Kentucky, with his daughter America Smith (age 37 - worked in farming), Lafleit Stanley (age 45 - born in Virginia, recorded as nephew and worked on the farm) and Mary Jane Stanley (age 4 - born in Virginia, recorded as niece and crossed out on the census)[7].
