Sans was born in 1729. Sans is the child of Sans Stanley and Mary Charder. [1]

In 1792 , Widow Stanley received 100 acre lot on Great Cranberry Island :

West Cranberry island (now Great Cranberry Island) " Sans Stanley in residence for eighteen years; " the island census, prepared by Rufus Putnham in 1785, ... Islands of The Mid - Maine Coast Vol. II by Charles B. McLane p. 23 {see Image _ 1785 Map signed by Rufus Putnham}

Noted: Sans Standley's date of death is estimated, based on his name being in the 1785, island census, and in the 1790 census, but his widow received his land deed in 1792 (Hancock Co.Deeds)

"The first Stanley settler on Great Cranberry was Thomas Stanley, a nephew of Jonathan, the first permanent settler of Little Cranberry."

Noted: Thomas Stanley's father, Sans Stanley was the first Stanley settler of Great Cranberry Island, at Fish Point.

"Thomas was the son of Sans and Margaret Homan Stanley and his mother was the "widow Margaret Stanley" to whom a deed of one hundred acres of land was given by Mme. de Gregoire in 1792.
