Hello Bill, hope all is well with you. I notice you are the profile manager for Jacob Brunk, Brunk-267, and Frances Kinzie, Kinzie-53. Also I noticed they were not connected as husband and wife. Is there a reason they are not connected. I noticed this while starting to make a profile for John Brunk, one of their sons.

Rodney, thanks for the heads up on this. I did enter the info after your email. I had it on my MacFamily tree, but failed to move it over.

Thx, Bill

Thank-you Bill, yes one of my 3rd cousins, 2 generations removed, Ida May Weaver, married John Brunk, who was Jacob & Frances Brunk's son. By the way, over on Find A Grave, there is a newspaper article that explains how Jacob Brunk died while rabbit hunting. Jacob Brunk's Find A Grave memorial ID is 5135815 if you want to read it.

Hi Bill - I’m new to WikiTree and it appears that we have some common interest on the Stanley side. Have you taken a DNA test? If not, a YDNA test by you could be valuable in our Stanley family research. I’m planning to ask my father Larry to test too.

Thanks!

Hi Bill, do you actually descend from Si Stanley (1888-1982)? The reason I ask, is Si is a descendent of Archelaus Stanley son of Joseph. Joseph's Paternity is a point of contention amongst many Genealogists studying the Virginia Quaker Stanley Families. Some researchers claim he was a 4th son of Thomas the Immigrant Ancestor of that line, but there is no documentation to prove that theory. You may just find that, if you are actually a direct Y descendant of Joseph, there are likely several researchers willing to pay for you to get a Y-DNA test done for comparison to tested descendants of Thomas. I've done a lot of work on the Stanleys here at WikiTree and would be quite intrigued by the prospects of analyzing such a test. Maybe not enough to pay the costs of the tests myself, but intrigued none the less...

My brother took a DNA test thru Ancestry.com, so I assume that is not the same as the Y-DNA test??

Hi William,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

P.S. I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them. That way, you can ask questions in G2G from the profile you're stuck on & folks will know what you have already.

For basic info on WikiTree, check out Intro to WikiTree. For genealogy, check out this page. And don’t forget to add your Sources, even if it’s just "Aunt Louisa told me in 1984..."). for some ideas on where to search for information about your ancestors, see this collection of sources.

Cheers, Liz
