Biography

Lord Stanley converted to Islam in 1862. He became the first Muslim member of the House of Lords in 1869.

Stanley was a historian, he translated "The First Voyage Round the World" by Magellan, published in 1869.

In 1851 Henry was living at Grosvenor Crescent, London, with his parents and siblings Alice, Blanche (Henrietta), Maude, Catherine, Algernon and Rosalind.[1]
