Margery Stanley is a descendant of several Magna Carta surety barons, including Saher de Quincy.

Margery Stanley was the daughter of John Stanley, Esquire (in the right of his wife) of Weever and Over Alderley, Cheshire and Elizabeth Weever, daughter and heiress of Thomas Weever.[1]

She married William Torbock, Knight of Tarbock, Lancashire, about Jan 1489/90. The couple had three sons, Thomas, Henry and Richard, and a daughter, Mary (or Maud) (m. a Dutton).[1]
