Bill Stanley was my mother's grandfather. In an interview with mom in 1987, she told me that she remembered when he passed away, the casket was taken to the cemetery in a horse drawn wagon. Everyone along the right fork of Brushy Creek stood by the road to say goodbye. Mom was only 7 at the time.
