Biography

John Stanley was the son and heir of Sir Humphrey Stanley who died in 1504 and was buried in Westminster Abbey.^[1]

From his father, he inherited the manor of Pipe, which was in Brentwood, Staffordshire, England, and lived there.^[1]

John was the father of:

1. Elizabeth, by 1522 she was married to Sir John Hercy of Grove, Nottinghamshire;^[1] and
2. Isabel, by 1522 she was married to Walter Moyle of Buckwell in Boughton Aluph, Kent.^[1]

John died in 1514, survived by his two infant daughters and coheirs, Elizabeth and Isabel.^[1]
