Elizabeth Stanley was born about 1766 at Goshen, Litchfield Connecticut. Her parents, Nathaniel Stanley and Sarah Baldwin, moved in from Connecticut to Rutland, Vermont, where they died and are buried at East Poultney Cemetery, her father in 1798 and her mother in 1809. Sourced from Find a Grave.
Marriage and Children
Elizabeth Stanley married Ichabod Brownell on 16 Sep 1773 at Canaan, Litchfield Connecticut. 
Ichabod fought in the Connecticut militia in the American Revolution and participated in the capture of fort Ticonderoga. In 1791 he moved his family to Colchester, Chittenden County Vermont, where he built and managed an inn.
According to family records; Elizabeth was a woman of fine character, although she became blind. According to Census records Elizabeth & Ichabod had ten children, 5 girls & 5 boys between the years 1774 - 1800.

Elizabeth died on 9 Sep 1841 in Colchester Vermont, and she is buried at Green Mountain Cemetery in Burlington, Chittenden Vermont.
