Carson William Stanley is the first child of James Dickson Stanley and Margaret Ann Blackburn Stanley. He was born soon after they came to Arkansas from Perry County Tennessee. He was born around Norfork, Arkansas while his parents lived there a couple of year before coming to Clear Creek near Eros in Marion County, Arkansas. Carson was first married to Artemis J Norton ,about 1878. They had two children; Margaret Stanley, born abt. 1879 and Harriet Stanley Lee, born abt. 1884. Artemis Stanley died around early 1887, and is believed to be buried in an unmarked grave in the Norton Cemetery at Sugar Orchard, Marion County Arkansas.
Carson's second wife is Mary Frances Tyler. They were married Dec.28, 1887 and had eight children. Their first child is "Effie" Jane Stanley Lee, born 1890, Thomas "Lee" Stanley, born 1891, Mary Stanley, born 1892, (died young), Alex John Stanley, born 1895, William "Jackson" Stanley, born 1897,Gracy Stanley 1898(died young), May Stanley born 1900 (died young), Vertie Stanley, born 1901.
