William married Elizabeth Taylor in 1765 in Rous Lench, but no local baptism record exists so nothing is known about his early life (there has to be considerable doubt as to whether the parents attached to this profile are really his given the huge distance they are from Rous Lench).

And there is a lack of baptism records for any children, although a death record for a William Stanley in the village would fit for being their child. However there were other Stanley's in the area, so there has to be some uncertainty.

He appears to have died in the village in 1824.
