James was born in 1919, a son of Jesse Early Stanley and Cynthia Etta Hudson, of Surry County, North Carolina. He passed away in 1983 and is buried in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Thomasville, North Carolina.[1][2]
He married Edith Erelin Rickard. They lived in the Thomasville, North Carolina area where he worked as a building contractor.
He is listed as the father on the death certificate for their son James Leslie Stanley, who passed away on 2 Jun 1948.[3][4] It is unknown if they had any other children, but none are mentioned in his wife's obituary.
