Birth
Job Stanley was born on Grand Manan Island on 24 August 1851 and baptised on 19 November 1851.[1] He was the son of Andrew Stanley and Lavina Cronk. His birth date is not included in his baptismal record, so it is taken from the 1901 Census.[2]

The marriage record has not been located, but online trees state that Job Stanley married Catherine Griffin, daughter of William Griffin and Elizabeth (Urquhart) Griffin, in 1873. Catherine's maiden name is corroborated in the vital records of several of their children.
