Birth and Parents

Nathaniel was born 8 Jan 1724 in Farmington, Hartford Connecticut. His parents, Nathaniel Stanley and Sarah Smith, [1] were from Farmington, but moved to Goshen

Marriage and Family

On the 6th of Nov 1746, Nathaniel Stanley married Sarah Baldwin at Goshen, Litchfield County, Connecticut.[2] They had seven known children, [1] all born at Goshen Litchfield CT:

Military Service: The French and Indian War

Nathaniel served in the French and Indian War, as a soldier from Goshen, together with his nephew, Stephen Tuttle, an orphan who had been raised in the Stanley family after the death of his mother, Nathaniel's sister Sarah, when he was less than a year old.[3]

Death and Burial

Nathaniel moved his family from Connecticut to Rutland Vermont, where he died on 6 Nov 1798. He is buried at East Poultney Cemetery in Rutland County Vermont.[1]
