Biography

Miriam was born in 1625. She is the daughter of Gideon Stanfield and Grace Eastwood.

"The families of Draper and Stansfield lived side by side in Yorkshire for centuries. James Draper, our puritan ancestor who came to America, married a daughter of the Stansfield family. The Stansfields, or Stansfeld, as anciently written, trace their descent from Wyon Maryon. Wyon Maryon is the descendant of a noble line in Brittany and a companion in arms of William the Conqueror. He obtained from his Royal master a grant of the Township of Stansfield in the County of York, England, from which the name, Stansfield, was derived. Therefore, we conclude that if the Stansfield family got their land for helping quell a rebellion, it is also likely this is how the Draper family received their land in England....Only James the Puritan came to America....James Draper was born ' 1622 in Priory of Heptonstall, Vicarage of Halifax, Yorkshire, England. ' James married Miriam Stansfield on April 21, 1646, in Heptonstall. Miriam was born Nov. 27, 1625, the daughter of Gideon Stansfield and Grace Eastwood of Wadsworth, Yorkshire,

Stanfield-200 and Stansfield-2 appear to represent the same person because: Hi again. They appear to represent the same person ie married to the sames James Draper, with the same first name, Miriam. If it is because of her different children, Miriam and James Draper had 9 children, including a Mariam, Sarah, and Susanna, according to "The Drapers in America being a history and genealogy of those of that name and connection."
