Richard Stantan was born to William Stantan and Mary (Sibly) Stantan and baptised 8 November 1801 in St Cleer, Cornwall, England. [1]
On 1 July 1824 he married Ann Dalley in St Cleer, [2] and the couple had the following children: William, Samuel, Mary, Eliza, Richard, and Sarah.
Richard worked as a copper miner. He appeared on the 1861 census with his wife, daughter Sarah, plus daughter Eliza Faull and her two children. [3]. He appeared on the 1871 census as an agricultural labourer, still with his wife and daughter Sarah (she was a schoolmistress) and the two Faull grandchildren (but no Eliza). [4]
Richard died in November of the same year[5] His Will was proved two years later: effects under £200.[6]
