"Theophilus Stanton, son of John Stanton & Hannah Thompson, was born June 16,1676" at Stonington, New London County, Connecticut.[1] He was their fifth child.
"Theophilus, married Elizabeth Rogers, Jan. 5, [1698]" at New London, New London, Connecticut.[2]
On March 14, 1704/5, a bond was posted by Elizabeth Stanton of Preston and Joseph Stanton of Stonington, administrators of the estate of Theophilus Stanton of Stonington. The sureties were Samuel Rogers Jr. of New London and Thomas Stanton of Preston. The Inventory of Theophilus, deceased on January 2, 1704/5, was taken on January 8 by the sureties, who found the estate valued at £259:01:06. On December 13, 1720, the Court summoned Elizabeth Harris, formerly Stanton, and Joseph Stanton to appear, and on January 20, 1720/1, Elizabeth Harris made her mark on an account.[3]
