Biography

Joseph Stanton was born on 11 Feb 1709/10, the third child of John and Mary (Starkweather) Stanton of Preston, Connecticut. He was baptized on 8 May 1710 at Preston, Connecticut Colony.

He married Abigail Freeman on 15 Aug 1738 - their children were Joseph, Nathan, Abigail, Ebenezer, Reuben and James Stanton.

At some point they moved from Connecticut to New York. They lived at Dutchess, New York in 1754.

He passed away in 1798 at Stanton's Hill, Coeymans, New York, USA and is buried at Stanton Family Burying Ground, Coeymans Hollow, Albany, New York, USA.
