Biography

Amariah Stanton was born 19 Jan 1723/24 at Stonington, New London County, Connecticut Colony. He was the fifth child of Mary Chesebrough & Daniel Stanton.

Amariah Stanton was married 17 Oct 1750 to Delight Champlin by Rev. Ebenezer Rosseter (entry notes that the month is recorded as December in "Wheeler's History"). Connecticut, Church Record Abstracts, 1630-1920 for Delight Champlin Volume 111 Stonington https://www.ancestry.com/interactive/3032/41107_620303988_0404-00061/242469. They had 3 children:

  1. Amariah Stanton, b. 14 Jul 1751; married 13 Oct 1774 Dorothy Whipple
  2. Delight Stanton, b. 19 Feb 1753; died young
  3. Jonathan Stanton; married Amelia Chesebrough

Amariah Stanton died 11 Jan 1754, at age 29, at or near Stonington, Connecticut Colony and is buried at Stanton-Hull Cemetery, Stonington, New London, Connecticut, USA.
