Hi Evelina!

I'm Kate Stetsiuk, and as I can see Martha Assmann 1909 is mine gran-grandmother! (I'm pretty sure) You made a Great job! Could we have a private chat about this line? [email address removed]

Hello again! I posted a comment two weeks ago and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well! Do you want to remain in the Germany Project? If I don’t hear back from you by the end of November, I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, always welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes, Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

REMINDERS: (1) We use Google Groups for project collaboration and you aren’t yet a member of the group, please submit a join request here (make sure to add your name/WikiTree ID to the request). (2) I see you've added German_Roots (our old project name) to your G2G tags, you should also add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

Hello Evelina,

I'm Linda, a Schamne descendant. In WikiTree I came across Heinrich, 1908-1976, but cannot connect him to my tree in ancestry. I was wondering if you have any additional information on him. Thanks, Linda Schamne Staral Lockwood

I just now saw a comment you posted a few years ago - sorry! There may be a relation further back or something , but I don't have the name Assman anywhere in my tree. Dad's side was totally from Prussia, especially back to the gg grand level. (or they were here in the US by then. How much of a match is there? Jeanne

Hi Evelina,

I have a Marianne Neumann in my Ancestry database: Anne Marianne NEUMANN, b. about 1776 Majdany, Kolo, Wielkopolskie, Poland, married 09 Jan 1792 to Johann Schachtschneider at Grabina Wielka, Kolo, Wielkopolskie, Poland. You stated your GGGgrandmother Marianne Neumann was from Galicia. So far I have not found any connections to Galicia. It appears my NEUMANN ancestors were in the area of Czerniejewo [Schwarzenau], Wielkopolskie from 1750s to 1900, but there may have been some that went to Ukraine [South Russia] for farming opportunities, as many of central Poland did, and South Russia included a part of Galicia. Tricky with border changes.

Check out the Society for Germany Genealogy in Eastern Europe (SGGEE) for information including Galicia. Have a nice day!

Hello Evelina, I do not think I ever responded, so sorry. From what I can tell I don't have any blood relations with the Assmans but I am connected to them through marriage in Canada from my paternal Fehler side who were also Galicians.

Most of the Fehler's come from Galicia and I find the whole history and emigration of the German families to North America quite interesting.

Maybe we are cousins but no connections yet! Let's keep working on those Galician family trees.

I am just trying to figure this site out. I thought it had matched our dna, but I was wrong. I know the place of origin of Johann Bleich from a record I found of the ship manifest of his original arrival.

I just realized my mistake. My grandfather, like your great uncle, was also named Gottfried Bleach and born in 1895. My furthest known Bleich relative was Johann Gottifried born 1793 in Maureen Poland/Prussia. He married Auguste Poseger.

Hello Again,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week now so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions?

I want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS Good work so far! Have you noticed on your ancestor profiles on bottom right is "Research" where you can get sources and more information? Give it a try!
