Major Jonas Stawell of the 45th Regt., (1814-1885) was the son of George Stawell

He was baptised on the 17th of July 1814 at Templeroan & Doneraile, Co. Cork, Ireland

He married firstly Henrietta Prothero on the 26 Nov 1840 at Caldicot, Monmothshire, Wales. Henrietta died aged 30 on the 2 Sep 1850 at Exmouth

He married secondly Harriet Innes Thompson on the 14 Feb 1854 in the parish church, Leamington Priors, Warwickshire.

He died aged 71 on the 16th of November 1885 at 25 Royal York Crescent, Clifton, Bristol.
