He was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Hinton; The machinists union and UAW; Head trustee of Lilly/Crews Cemetery, Nimitz; Former commander of the DAV; Machinist at Three Mile Island; Former president of Jumping Branch Ruritan Club; An Army Signal Corps veteran; Class A machinist/tool and die maker; An amateur pilot. My free time for the past 30 years is mostly spent engaging in some form of genealogical pursuit. I love cemeteries and dead people and I embrace my weirdness. If you look at the people who are a member of wikitree we are related one way or another especially thru my beloved husband's lineages.

Hi again,

I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!

If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.

Best wishes,

Traci ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi,

The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.

REMINDER: add GERMANY to your followed G2G tags so you don't miss any discussions in G2G (see: Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags Help:Tags).

Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.

We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Hi Andrea! I haven't heard back from you about the Scotland Project check-in. I hope you are well and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

Hi Andrea, Thank you for the welcome! I'm having a problem already. I put my current name in the place I should have put my name at birth. I go to "edit" but a screen comes up telling me that I have a GEDcom file uploading, however my GEDcom file has already uploaded and I've received the confirmation email. Any suggestions?
Hi Andrea,

It's that time of the year again: check-in time! As England Project Leaders, we like to check in with you every six months or so to see how things are progressing. Back in May, we didn't ask for a response due to the rapid emergence of Covid-19 because we understood that people's lives were changing rapidly. While we are still living in a Covid world, we do need to hear back from you this time around

First of all, how are you doing? What are you currently working on? Are you happy with the team(s) you're in, or would you like to change things up?

Secondly, we're looking for some feedback on the Google Group and our Discord server. Do you use either or both of these? If you don't use either, why not? Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve participation and collaboration, either generally or for you personally?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Lizzie, Amy, Joan

Hello Andrea,

The Appreciation Team Leaders are completing the six-month check in with all team members. Thank you for all your work thanking and appreciating WikiTree members.

I see you aren’t signed up for a task on our team Task List. Please let me know what you’re working on, so we can add it to the list. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Appreciation_Team:_List_of_Tasks. Or let me know if the Appreciation Team is no longer something you can keep up with.

Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do.

On behalf of the Germany Project, I am currently undergoing our member check-in's and wanted to verify that you are still interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? We have many new teams so have a look on the Germany project page for the full list. I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google groups for project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup, please submit a join request and we will get that approved as quickly as possible. Hi, Andrea! ;-)

The Ambassadors project has been reorganizing and is looking for those who have a membership at a genealogical society, to help in spreading the word about WikiTree.

We're working on ways to improve how WikiTree connects and interacts with genealogical and local history societies. This is the kind of thing we want to do:

  • Liaise with societies: set up your local society with a free-space page and some WikiTree materials as part of a package.
  • Use social media to promote what societies are offering on WikiTree.
  • Encourage bloggers to blog about societies and the resources available to them on WikiTree.

Are you interested in participating in some way? Do you have some ideas to share?

Azure Rae ~ co-Leader of Ambassadors Project

Hi Andrea,

As you may have seen, we have been doing some restructuring in the US Southern Colonies Project and are now organising ourselves into different teams. We have also changed the criteria for membership. Please have a look at the new project pages, and let me know whether you would like to remain in the project and, if so, which team(s) you would like to be in.

Please can you also send me your e-mail address. I can then make sure you are introduced to your Team Leaders and are in the Google Group.

Please note that it is a requirement for membership in the US Southern Colonies Project that you respond to these check-ins. We’re really excited for the future of the project and hope that you decide to be a part of it with us moving forwards.

Many thanks,

Susie, US Southern Colonies Project Co-Leader

Hi Andrea,

Your England Leaders are completing the six monthly check in with all team members. Thank you for all your work on English Profiles and in particular your work in Cornwall and Kent Teams.

These are unprecedented and difficult times, and we understand as Project Leaders that your situation may have changed somewhat in the last few months. What we are all able to/ wish to contribute on Wikitree has changed. Please let me know if you are happy with your current role and team choice, or if you wish to do something additional or different. Thank you again on behalf of all the Project Leaders for everything you do.

Thank you, Andrea for welcoming me! There’s a lot more to Wikitree than I could have imagined. It’s going to take some time to try and understand all this. I basically joined to make a post on a “David Gifford” 1816. He has no Profile Manager. I posted some conflicting info on his birth place and parents and other info about the family. Will this info be reviewed since there is no Profile Manager? I have found some very interesting info on other family members other than the Giffords, heck of a web site. Forgot to mention I am not a biological descendant but through adoption. Right now, I would be happy just being a Guest member and not a volunteer until I learn my way around the Tree. Thanks.

Hi Andrea, Thanks for the welcome. How much detail do I need to put in my request to volunteer? I am just getting started in Geneology, but have other family members who have researched extensively. At this point I can update Wikitree with their research while I get started picking up their loose ends and adding my own.
