It has been a good while since the Magna Carta Project asked members to check-in. We are interested now in updating our membership list and making sure that it accurately reflects our current membership. We would greatly appreciate your timely response to the following questions:
1. Would you like to continue as a member of the Magna Carta Project?
2. Do you have any interest in taking a more active role in the project and, if so, what might you be interested in doing?
3. If your interests have changed and/or you no longer have time to participate in the project, would you like to remain a member of the google group and continue receiving updates about project activities?
If you do wish to continue as a project member, please either post a response to this message or send me a private email. If we do not hear from you by October 16th we will assume you are exploring different interests and no longer wish to be involved with the project.
with warmest regards,
Jen, Magna Carta Project co-leader
Thank you for contributing towards the goals of the England Project! Over the past year, a staggering amount has been done to improve English profiles on WikiTree and we couldn't have done it without you and our other project members.
The England Project leadership like to check in with all our project members at least once a year.
Are you happy to stay in your current project team/s? Or is there another team you would like to join or become more active in?
Please reply to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message. I look forward to hearing from you. Please also let us know if you have other feedback about the direction of the project.
Many thanks! Steve, on behalf of the England Project leadership
We recently left a message on your profile to check in with the Profile Improvement Project (PIP). Would you like to continue with the Project? If so, please respond to let us know. We would also like to hear from you with any ideas or suggestions.
If we don’t hear from you within 14 days we will remove you from the Project. You're welcome to rejoin the project with a quick Voyage refresher.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project
The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing a check-in. The Project operates in a team structure with these participant PIP Teams -- The Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and three Biography Teams. There is also the Voyage Team which guides new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team.
You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team, working on profiles from your watchlist and other profiles that interest you. The other two Biography Teams work on Abandoned and Popular profiles from the provided lists. Please let us know if you are content with your current Team or would like to change to one of the others.
If you have not already done so, we invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (You will need your Wiki ID for both). Neither is required; we also use the Profile_Improvement tag in G2G for Project announcements.
We thank you for all you do to help the Profile Improvement Project meet its goals. We would like to hear about the successes you’ve had and would also appreciate any feedback you have to help improve the Project. Please share your thoughts in a reply to this comment or via private message to one of us.
Sincerely,
Debi Hoag and Kay Knight, Co-Leaders, Profile Improvement Project
Robin Shaules, Project Coordinator, Profile Improvement Project

Thank you for your commitment to the England Project and its goals in 2023. Together we are making English WikiTree profiles the best they can be!
I'd like to share our end-of-year 2023 Newsletter. You can read it here: England Project Newsletters. We hope you enjoy reading about what we have achieved in 2023.
On behalf of all the England Project Leaders, we wish you a peaceful, productive and enjoyable 2024!
Best wishes,

Yes I truly enjoyed reading and being in the England project thank you for asking!
I noticed that you have been creating Pre-1700 profiles using Find A Grave memorials without photos of the actual gravestones, which is not acceptable. Here is the England Project's sourcing guidelines. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Project_Reliable_Sources
If you have any other questions, the G2G forum is a great place to get advice.
Thanks!
Thank you for all the work that you have done for the Scotland Project. As you have not responded to our recent check in messages I presume that you wish to leave the project.
If you'd like to re-join us in the future, you can do so by replying to our current G2G Welcome post which is linked from the project page at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Scotland

I've been working on the Spain family and saw the history that Emma Spain Gilbert had provided on Spain-422,through a personal letter. Can that part be added to Spain-1405? It would be much appreciated!
It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!

For the last several months, the Poland Project has been undergoing new organization with new volunteers. We are excited about how the project can enhance Wikitree!
We have several different task teams that need volunteers. Please take a look at this page to see which one interests you: Volunteer Tasks. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Poland_Project_Toolbox Once you have decided which task team you would like to work on, please reply to this comment.
The only requirements for ongoing membership in the Poland Project are that you join a team and respond to the periodic check-ins from the Project Leaders/Coordinators. We recognize that people lead busy lives and are grateful for any and all contributions you can make.
Once you have joined a team, please join the Poland Project Google Group to receive project updates and participate in project and team discussions. You can also follow Project news via the tags 'Poland_Europe' or 'Polish_Roots' or 'Polska' on G2G.
If we don’t hear from you in the next 45 days, your membership badge will be removed. In this case please don't be offended as you're welcome to rejoin at any time. Please also note, that in order to receive help researching your Polish ancestors, membership is not mandatory. Just ask your questions in the G2G forum and tag them with 'Poland_Europe' or 'Polska' in order for our knowledgeable researchers to see them.

I've noticed that you've been creating some pre-1700 English profiles only using a geneanet tree, geni entry or family search person page as a source. Neither of these are considered reliable for pre-1700 English profiles. Here's a list of sources that will help you find reliable sources to add to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:England_Project_Reliable_Sources Cheers, Elizabeth co-leader England Project

This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months.
In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.

The Profile Improvement Project (PIP) is performing its first annual check-in with our project members. We are in the process of transitioning to a team structure. There will be three participant PIP Teams to start -- The Maintenance Category Team, the Unknowns Team, and the Biography Team. There is also the Voyage Team who guide new Voyagers. See the Profile Improvement Project Teams for a brief outline of each team. Please let us know which team(s) you would like to participate in.
Thank you for being a member of the project. You're currently identified as a member of the Biography Team Level 1. If you would prefer a different or additional Team, please let us know. You joined the Project before the Voyage started in late 2018, we would like to invite you to consider a "fast track" Voyage, especially if you plan to join the Biography Team. If you’re interested, choose a profile that you have completed to the best of your ability and compare it to the Voyage Biography Standards. If your profile is at Level 2 or better, include a link to the profile in your response to this check-in for a “fast track” review.
We would also like to invite you to join the email GoogleGroup and text chat Discord channel for our project. (When you request to join our GoogleGroup, please be sure to include your Wiki ID). You will find more information on the GoogleGroup. https://groups.google.com/d/forum/wtprofileimprovement

If you're a member of the Google Group,* then you've heard that the Magna Carta Project has retired the Gateway Guardian initiative. Would you delete or replace your Gateway Guardian sticker please?
WikiTree has two relatively new stickers - Template:Relationship_Sticker and Template:Connection Sticker - that you might want to use if you're related to or connected to the Gateway. There's also the Template:Descendant sticker that you can use. To see tailored coding for these stickers (e.g., with the Magna Carta Project logo), please see Space: Magna Carta Stickers#sticker.
Thanks! Liz

Just a heads up about the Archer/Royall families - I'm working on sorting a ton of duplicates that arrange the families differently & it's taking WAY longer than I thought it would (doesn't help that I have to quit frequently to keep from triggering a migraine!).
Anyway - Mary Wood... I cannot find any evidence for a George Archer - [any given name] Wood marriage. FindAGrave for pre-1700 profiles is not a reliable source & the memorials for these folks don't have pictures or cite reliable sources. Wood Lineages is no longer at wvrebel.0catch.com/WOOD2.HTML#WOOD2 but it was captured by the WayBack Machine (15 Jan 2020) and I could not find any sources at all for the information on that site (on either the Wood tree or the Archer tree).
While there is a Mary Wood who was probably born c1630s, but she is named as daughter of Abraham/wife of Thomas Chamberlayne in Abraham's 1682 will, so she didn't die before 1682 and was not married to George Archer before her marriage to Thomas.
If you have any primary sources for these folks, please share!
Thanks! Liz
