Biography
Robert was born about 1812 in Pittsboro, North Carolina. He was the son of Winship Stedman and Margaret Ferguson.
In 1828 he was bequeathed an equal share of his father's estate along with all seven of his siblings, which he received on his twenty-first birthday.
In 1835 he created his will on October 9, 1835, leaving his entire estate to his mother, Margaret Stedman. The will was probated in the November session of 1836.
He passed away in 1836 in Pittsboro and was buried in the family cemetery.
