Biography

Nathan Stedman (son of John Stedman and Mary Beebe) was born in 1714 in Connecticut, and died April 27, 1771 in Ashford, Connecticut. He married Abigail Hazen on March 12, 1740/41 in Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, daughter of Jacob Hazen and Abigail Lothrop.

Nathan is described in "Old Houses of the Antient Town of Norwich [Conn.] 1660-1800" as "a prominent attorney of Norwich."

Nathan Stedman, described in the record as "father of Nathan Jr.," died at Ashford, Connecticut, on 27 April 1771.[1]
