When Elizabeth was 16 she married Richard Hingston, an apothecary from Falmouth, on 15 Aug 1725, their marriage being registered at the Kea Meeting House in Kea, Cornwall.[1][2]

Elizabeth and Richard had twelve children together - eight sons and four daughters - of whom seven survived to adulthood:

  1. Nathaniell Hingston: The first-named, born 30 Aug 1726 in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[3] He died 04 Feb 1734 (1733, O.S.; 1734, N.S.) at the age of 7 and was buried on 06 Feb 1734 (1733, O.S.; 1734, N.S.) in Kea, Cornwall.[4]
  2. Richard Hingston: Born 12 Jul 1728 in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[5] He died at the age of 19 (before attaining majority) in Jun 1747 and was buried on 12 Jun 1747 in Kea, Cornwall.[6]
  3. Andrew Hingston: Born 4 Jun 1730 in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[7]
  4. Lazarus Hingston: Born 23 Feb 1732 (1731, O.S.; 1732, N.S.) in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[8]

John Hingston: Born 23 Feb 1744 (1743, O.S.; 1744, N.S.) in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[17] He died shortly after birth, and was buried on 24 Feb 1744 (1743, O.S.; 1744, N.S.) in Kea, Cornwall. Note: the OPC transcription annotates that the year is given as 1744, while dating the record as 1743. The transcriber states that the year could be 1745, "year noted as 1744 but could be 1745."[18]
  12. James Hingston: Born 12 Jun 1745 in Penryn, Cornwall; his birth being registered at the Budock and Falmouth Meeting House in Budock, Cornwall.[19]

Death

Elizabeth died at the age of 38 on 29 July 1747 in Penryn, Cornwall, leaving Richard a widower, and was buried on 31 Jul 1747 in Kea, Cornwall.[20]
