James Steele was baptized on 6 March 1773, at Coldingham, so he likely was born in February.

Marriage

He and Margaret Pae married "irregularly" at Coldstream on 8 October 1793.
Two entries in the Kirk Session Book describe subsequent events:
15 Nov 1793: "Compared Jas Steele and Margt Pai both Residenters in Coldingham and produced a Certificate of their Irregular marriage Signed by one who stiles himself Delahoy Reece Minr of the Order of the Church of England. The Session having sustained their marriage Confirmed the same and seriously exhorted them to more regular conduct for the future they were dismissed.”
19 Nov 1793: “Jas. Steele Weaver in Coldingham and Margt. Pai Residenter there being irregularly married at Coldstream Octr. 8th had their Marriage confirmed this day.”

Death

James Steele passed away in 1832 at Liberton, Berwickshire.
