George Steele, the son of Robert Steele and Rebecca Oury, was born about 1806 in Cove Creek, Whythe Co. Virginia.

George Steele was mentioned in the 1821 will of his father, Robert Steele.[1]

George married Anne Robinett on 5 June 1834 in Wythe, Virginia, United States.[2][3]

In 1838 George purchased land in Tazewell and Wythe Counties VA from several of his siblings: David Steele and wife Martha, Ruben Steele and Clarissa, etc., as documented on a deed in 1838, Wythe County, Virginia.[4]

In the 1850 census George (age 43) was in Jeffersonville, Tazewell, Virginia, United States.[5]
