Controversy and Discussion

Mary Steele was incorrectly identified as spouse of William Tryon.^[3] Probable but inconclusive spouse is Mary Loveland, and Mary Steele is identified as spouse of John Thompson -- married on 24 Oct 1670 as documented in work of Frank Farnsworth Starr. ^[3] William Tryon is in a household of two persons several months prior to the marriage of Mary Steele and John Thompson, indicating Tryon was married at this time.^[3]
