Hi Cindy!

I noticed you have been adding GALPIN family who were born in Marnhull, Dorset, England.

I have 2 reasons for posting this message the first is that I have ancestors in this area with this surname and I have taken over a One Place Study for the Sturminster Newton area of Dorset. Secondly, I have noticed that the only source you have added is research that someone has done on the family.

Can I suggest that you join the England Project and the Orphan Trail will guide you through the records available and how to add them to the profile. You can learn more about it here.

Just a reminder, Cindy. Can you please fill out the location fields when you add a profile. It makes it easier for other WikiTreers to do their research.

Thank you, Laurie, Ontario Team Leader

Greetings Cindy,

You often cite John Davidson records. What are these? Are they more than an unsourced public tree handed down? James McAvoy father Christopher McAvoy, that you claim is his brother is from a letter from William E, Britnell. Brittnell wrote many articles regarding genealogy and had work published by the Ontario Genealogical Society. Report by Bill Britnell on Genealogical Research is listed on the CANADIAN FRIENDS HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION Newsletter. I would prefer a primary source in making a determination on his parents. Can you help?

Hi Cindy

As a reminder, WikiTree is different, we share our ancestors and duplicates should be avoided through the use of reliable sources. There are reasons behind the eighth point in our Honor Code: "We cite sources. Without sources we can't objectively resolve conflicting information." A source provides a way to find out more about the person. Showing sources reduces confusion and duplicates

Thanks Cindy for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

As pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches dates of profile, avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & URL links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The England Project may be of interest. Adding the tag England will provide updates about the project.

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one to fis your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Please read the goals & tasks of the project
