Charlotte was born on 29 May 1857, in Langhorne Creek, South Australia, to Edward Steele Steer and Anna Steer [Dutnall]
John Morgan Venn aged 21, married Charlotte Steer, aged 19, on 15 August 1876 in Mundalla, South Australia. The ceremony was performed by D Milne the Congregational minister of Bordertown, at the residence of the bride's father, G Steer, Mundulla farm.
They had thirteen children:
