Biography
Samuel Steere was born on January 13, 1745 in Glocester, Providence, Rhode Island. He was the son of Jonah Steere and Lydia (Whipple) Steere. He married Mary Smith, dau. of Thomas Smith of Scituate. Together, they were the parents of David Steere, Silas Steere, Betsey Steere, and Hardin Steere. He passed away in 1826 in Glocester, Kent, Rhode Island, United States.
