Isaac Newton Steeves was born on 3 Dec 1860 in Dawson Settlement, Albert, New Brunswick, son of Hiram Steeves (1816–1879) and Hannah Steeves (1817–1895).

Isaac died on 8 May 1925 in Dawson Settlement, aged 64.[2] [3] He was buried in Jonah Cemetery, Hillsborough, New Brunswick.
