Biography

Newcombe was born in 1879. He was the son of Archibald Steeves and Caroline Trites.

He was enumerated in 1881 as a baby with his parents and older siblings^[1]

He was enumerated in 1891 with his parents and siblings in Moncton^[2]

Newcombe is mentioned in the 1901 Winnipeg Free Press article about the death of his brother Jasper.

Newcombe was enumerated in Winnipeg in 1906, along with his wife, his father, two of his brothers and his little sister.^[3]

Newcombe was enumerated in 1911 with his wife, two daughters and his father ^[4]

Newcombe along with his brother Morgan is mentioned in Turning Leaves ^[5], a history of the town of La Riviere. See pages 255 and 256 of the book (page 263 of the pdf online)

He passed away 31 Dec 1944 in Port Arthur, Ontario. The informant on the death certificate was his daughter Helen. ^[6]
