1850 Fredrick (variously named Fred, Fritz, or Fretz in the records) K. Steffen was born about Sep 1850 in Germany.[1][2][3][4]

1868 Fred immigrated to the USA about this time, presumably with his parents and siblings.[3][5]

1870 The Steffen family had settled in Wonewoc, Juneau County, Wisconsin, USA by 1870. The household comprised:
