Biography

john Steffler, son of Louis and Theressa Steffler, was born on 6 Feb. 1847 or 48 in Puslinch Township, Ontario, Canada.[1] He appeared on the census of 1851 in the home of his parents at Puslinch, Wellington, Canada West (Ontario), Canada.[2]

He married Catharine Hauss, daughter of Hieronymus and Margaret Hauss, on 1 Feb. 1881 at New Germany, Ontario, Canada.[1]

He was a farmer when he and Catherine appeared on the census of 1901 at East Bruce, Ontario.[3]

John died on 12 Nov. 1905 at Bruce, Ontario[4] and was buried at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery, Formosa, Bruce County, Ontario. His memorial has a photo of his memorial monument.[5]
