Melchior Staley, according to Frederick Reformed Church records which spelled his name as Stehely, was born 5 June 1719, and died 21 March 1791. The indicated birth dates compare with a like date found in the Maschwander Reformed Church records in Switzerland. His wife, Anna Barbara Mizkel, was born 26 December 26, 1726, and died 3 April 1790. (He was married a second time on 14 August 1790 to Margreth Winters.)
