Katherine is the child of Eduard Steichen and Clara Smith. [1]
Kate Rodina Steichen, a daughter of Edward Steichen, the photographer, and a niece of Carl Sandburg, died of lymphoma sarcoma Monday at her home in Wilton, Conn. She was 79 years old.
She was born in Paris and moved to the United States after World War I. She was an administrative assistant to the editor in chief at the Doubleday Publishing Company for 10 years before she retired in 1960.
She is survived by her sister, Dr. Mary S. Calderone of Manhattan.
