Dr Josef (Josl) Steinberg was born in Frydek on 28 June 1902 as one of the three children of Emanuel Steinberg and Berta Müller.[1][2] Josl studied at the Faculty of Law of the German University in Prague from the winter term 1920/1921 til 29/05/1925. He graduated in 1925. [3]
Josl returned to Frýdek and in 1937 became a member of the committee of the Jewish Religious Community in Frýdek. On October 17th 1939 he was deported to a concentration camp near Nisko in the part of Poland occupied by the Germans.[4]
According to his nephew Petr Munk/Yehuda Manor, in 1942 Josef died of typhus in a Russian labourcamp.
