Family #65 in the 1798 Grimm census.
Christina Stend was born in Germany around 1748. She was Johann Wendel Adler's second wife, seven years his junior. [1] It does not appear that the couple had any children, based on the 1798 Grimm Census. The only children living with the couple were the two adult sons of Wendel and his first wife, along with their wives and children. Most like their sisters were married and living in another household by 1775.
When Christina first immigrated to Russia, she lived in the Colony of Moor. After marrying Wendel Adler, she moved to Grimm permanently. At the time of the 1798 census, she was absent without permission from the local government, back in Moor. Since she probably still had family there, she most likely returned to visit or care for a sick family member, or because there had been a death in her family. Those are the only reasons that would have warranted leaving Grimm without permission.
