Biography

Harriet Agnes "Hattie" Stephens was born about 1862 in South Carolina, United States. She was the daughter of Calvin Stephens and Maryann Francis Lawson.

Sometime after 1880 and before 1893 Hattie married Bergas Gray. Date and location are unknown.

Children;

  • James Arthur Gray b. 1893 m. Gertrude Overcash

Hattie remarried to an Unknown Kirby, after the death of Bergas, sometime after 1893 and before 1910. It does not appear that they had any children.

Hattie died on the 14th of August, 1921 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was buried in the Carlisle Cemetery in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina, United States. [1][2]

Research Notes

Death registration gives Hattie's parents as Calvin Stephens and Francis Lawson.

A search for marriage registrations on FamilySearch was unsuccessful.
