Mildred was born in 1910. She graduated from Mississippi State College for Women with a teaching degree in Home Economics, which she taught in Siloam and the Columbus City Schools until her retirement in 1975. She was a charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Columbus. She passed away in 2003.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Williams Young and her husband, Alex, of Granbury, Texas; a daughter- in-law, Kathryn Hill Williams of Austin, Texas; one son: James W. Williams and his wife, Deliah, of Columbus; six grandchildren, Steve Foster of Seattle, Wash., Gary Foster of North Richland Hills, Texas, Scott Foster of Richardson, Texas, Tracy Pack of Columbus, Lynn Burke of Carmel, Ind., and Tammie Williams of Austin, Texas; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, James Miller Stephens and his wife, Clara, of Verona; seven nieces and nephews.
