John Stephens, son of William Stephens and Mary, was christened on the 12th of April, 1731 at Ripple in Worsestershire, England.[1]

It is by no means certain that this is the right source - and it is an ODM record anyway so inherently suspect - but Ripple is certainly the area that the family lived for some time.
