Biography
- John Stephens was born on 22 September 1825 in Montgomery County, Virginia, the older of two known children, both sons of Henry and Mary Ann Charlton Stephens.[1]
- On 10 March 1847, when he was twenty-one, he married Margaret Evans. She bore him five known children, three sons and two daughters:
- On 12 May 1893, when he was sixty-seven, John died of unknown causes in Montgomery County.[2]
