Biography

Birth

Date: abt 1713
Note: The estimated birth year is from a user-submitted record that gives no sources. It also gives her birthplace as Newton Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. Binns states the family immigrated from Ireland, probably about 1730. Quote from p. 152, "There seems to be no record of the Stephens or Edgerton families in New Jersey or Philadelphia Friends meetings prior to 1732." This makes her birth in New Jersey pretty much impossible. Binns also gives no birth date for Sarah, so 1713 should be considered nothing more than an estimate.
